2-storey, T-plan farmhouse composed of much altered mid 18th
century house adjoined by mid 19th century house. Pink rubble
stone and droved ashlar dressings; squared greyer rubble to
later facade.
MID 19TH CENTURY HOUSE:
W ELEVATION: symmetrical 3-bay facade; raised base course.
Consoled cornice above door; small-pane rectangular fanlight.
Higher eaves than earlier house.
N GABLE: single ground floor window.
S GABLE: 2 windows irregularly placed 18th century house now
much altered form rear wing. Small-pane sash and case windows
with some plate glass. Coped skews with imposts. Gable-head
stacks. Slate roofs.
Stone allegedly taken from Tantallon Castle which was ruinous
by late 17th century.
