Description

Main block, 1790-98 harled with painted ashlar margins; 3
storeys, 5 bays with centre slightly advanced and pedimented
containing Roman Doric columned and corniced doorpiece with
frieze decorated with triglyphs and paterae; piended slated
roof with paired centre chimney stacks. House made H-plan by
addition of 2 storey wings harled with ashlar margins circa
1805; wings have bowed 3-bay fronts; 2-bay flanks with
south-east first floor windows being Venetians with Gothick
glazing at centre lights and blind side lights. 12-pane sash
and case windows. Later additions, at least partly by A Maitland
& Sons, 1904 at rear.
