Founded 1848, built circa 1850, 2-storey 3-bay classically
detailed school-house. Ashlar with squared rubble sides and
rear, latter partly harled.
Giant pilasters frame each bay, central pediment; cornice and
parapet. Pilastered central doorpiece with panelled door and
rectangular fanlight. Architraved windows, 12-pane at ground,
9 at 1st. Corniced end stacks, piended slate roof.
Screen wall to left with square headed opening.

Statement of Interest

Founded by James Wilson of the Bannockburn mill owning

Factory. 1886 the school ceased to be private.

The school was converted by the School Board for Primary use.

1899 closed.

School buildings to rear demolished 1986 acquired by Stirling

District Council and now used by Bannockburn Heritage Group.
