Small Georgian mansion on the south bank of the Tweed, erected by James Burnet of Barns between 1773 and 1780 and replacing an earlier house. Harled, quoins, 2-storeys on sunk basement with railed area; centre pediment topped by 3 ornamental urn finials, piended roof; porch has
4 Ionic columns. At the back is a centre bowed projection carried up
full height and the basement is exposed as a ground floor. A lower wing has been added at the side.
