Description

Ruin. Circa 1560-70. 3-storey and attic 36' x 28' with 23' dia. circular angle tower. Rubble-built, ground floor vaulted: original door in main building, transferred to angle tower slightly later. Remains of semi-circular arched gate, voussoirs fell 1920. Castle repaired 1736, unroofed by 1769, back wall fell in 1936.

Statement of Interest

Built by the Hurry family. Sold to John Cheyne of Fortrie 1597; to Forbes of Monymusk c. 1650.
