Description

James Matthews dated 1868. Rectangular plan, red coursed
rubble, 5-window flanks, N. gable has centre projected with
twin doorways, big 2-light window over and pedimented
Renaissance bellcote. Distinctive personal round-arched style
with margins rising parabolically over arches. 2-light
windows with simple wood tracery at all except centre N.
window. 17th century inscribed stone at vestry. 1689 bell.

Statement of Interest

Ecclesiastical building in use as such. The Free Church

(James Henderson 1844) has been demolished. The Episcopal

Church (1844) is not of much interest.
