Statement of Interest

Good early corn mill with prominent Aberdeenshire kiln vent comprising revolving ventilator with polygonal slate base. Newe Mill is unusually large for this part of Aberdeenshire. Now (2006) in use as a fish hatchery for the Don District Salmon Fishery Board, the internal wheel and other workings had been removed prior to 1976. The mill lade would have been fed from the Water of Deochry.

Category changed from B to C(S) in 2006.
