Early 19th century. 2-storey 3-bay farmhouse at SW corner of
steading. Whitewashed rubble with contrasting painted
margins: slate roofs.
HOUSE: gabled central porch to S with flanking bipartites,
single 1st floor windows; plate-glass sashes; straight skews;
end stacks. Porch in rear wing to court.
STEADING: 1 and 2 storeys; and built around courtyard, latter
bisected by wide byre with half-slated roof with 2 tiers
skylight ventilators. W range adjoins house, 2 storeys and
now part domestic with porch: piend-roofed barn in E range
possibly 18th century, with 3-bay courtyard elevation with
central door to each level; main roof swept over loft door
and over rear (E) outshot; single bay S flank; main courtyard
entrance alongside.
Half-slating technique used to ventilate roof.
