Probably later 18 century/early 19th century. Circular outlook tower folly built near summit of Dalskairth Hill and now surrounded by Tower Wood. All rubble-built. Pointed-arched west-facing doorway with (worn) crest set above; slit openings; coped parapet; roofless and interior gutted.
A good example of a folly. It forms part of the designed landscape of Dalskairth House. It appears as Lennox's Tower on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map of 1854. Follies are associated with the Romantic movement of the late 18th/early 19th century and they became popular from the late 18th century onwards. They added interest to the landscape and acted as focal points for visitors.
