Probably 19th century. Unusually long thatched cottage
with gables (latter probably raised to incorporate
stacks). Single storey; 4 irregular bays; gabled off-
centre porch on north west front later addition, 4
windows to rear. Thick, rubble-built walls with
squared angles; limewashed. End stacks; muran thatch
roof secured by netting, stone weights over inner
wallhead.
Lean-to shed adjoins north east gable.
An unusual, although probably more satisfactory
solution to the problem of incorporating stacks. The
size and the treatment of the gables make this of
interest. Shown on 1st ed. OS (surveyed 1878).
