Description

L-plan 3-storey mansion dated 1680. 5-window E. frontage,
moulded cill-course at ground floor, architraved centre
doorway (now enclosed in lightly constructed porch
addition.) Circular N.E. angle tower; bow-fronted W.
addition containing staircase, probably early 18th cent
making approximately symmetrical N. frontage. Interior
largely remodelled c.1790, 2 tripartites added on S. and
W. re-entrant frontages.

Statement of Interest

Prior to 1790 this house is said to have had a S.E. tower

making the E. front a round towered version of the Gallery

(Logie Pert item 7) E. frontage completed in the same year,

1680. Insufficient of the 17th cent plan at Kinnaber

survives for the parallel to be fully studied and the

Kinnaber door architrave looks a little later than the

Gallery one.
