Description

Mainly 2-storey and basement whinstone with red sandstone
dressings in Abbotsford-baronial manner from c. 1825
incorporating earlier fragments 3-storey S. tower and
entrance porch c. 1890 Andrew Heiton Jun., of Perth archt.
Dramatic site on cliff edge 214' above River Ericht.

Statement of Interest

On E. wall important mural monument of c. 1640 with

half-length effigy believed to have been brought from

Edinburgh University. Lengthy Latin inscription commemorating Bartholomew Somerville. Several other sculptured stones.
