16th cent. Keep rebuilt and drastically restored 1824
to make a picturesque ruin. Oblong. 2 storeys. Random rubble.
Roofless circular turret on wall-head. Water-spouts. Pointed
windows. Fore-stair to upper storey. Double doorway (inset
inscribed 'I.K./I.A.B./1824' bearing medallion with arms in
spandrel) On ground floor, interior gutted, with earthen
floor.
Restored for John Keir who bought Wester Murieston in 1819.
