Designed by Archibald Scott of Edinburgh, architect, 1837. Built in 1840's. Plain, 3-bay, rectangular-plan church; former vestry at west end of north wall, modern hall adjoining. All harled. Round-headed openings; door and gallery window in east gable below gabled apex belfry; tall windows to bays with Y-tracery. Straight skews with gabletted skewputts; slate roof.
Interior: long central communion table runs full length and has marbled top; pulpit on west wall has steps on either side; gallery at east supported on 2 simple columns.
Enclosed by rubble-built walls which partly enclose Dr MacLean monument at north end; latter is dated 1861, Gothic, and of white marble.
Ecclesiastical building in use as such. The central communion table is a rare survival. The minister submitted a design by Alexander MacKenzie
architect, Portree: Scott's design was submitted by the factors of the heritors, and it was the one chosen by the presbytery.
