Earlier 19th century; extension at E later 19th century. 2-storey, rectangular plan lodge. Rubble sandstone, ashlar quoins, harled projection at N, grey slate roof. Windows have margined quoins with plate glass sash and case glazing. Half-piended roof at E, gable at W with plain bargeboards; corniced ridge stacks.
N ELEVATION: advanced bay at centre projecting from 1st floor supported by angle piers, door at right return, 2 windows, piended roof; 2 windows at main elevation left, 1 at right, platt to door from raod level, forestair to lower level. Door, door blocked as window, window and square-headed opening at right.
W GABLE: window at right.
S ELEVATION: 2 windows at ground floor of original building, 3 at 1st, symmetrical; addition at right blank; road bridge abuts angle at left.
ROAD BRIDGE: earlier 19th century. Single arch road bridge. Rubble sandstone, rounded rubble coping. Segemental arch with small irregular voussoirs. Parapet at NW splayed and continued as wall to W; parapet at NE abuts angle of lodge.
