Description

Earlier mid 19th century single-storey and attic, 3-bay farmhouse, sited on hill, with garden sloping to S. Squared and snecked brown whin

rubble in courses on principal, S elevation, with contrastingly-coloured cream ashlar dressings and long and short quoins, random rubble on subsidiary elevations. Pitched slated roof with stepped masonry skews; Jacobethan style ashlar end stacks, with 3 octagonal shafts to E and W gables. Regular fenestration with 12-pane timber sash and case glazing pattern. S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3 regular bays, entrance to centre with white-painted corniced doorpiece, 3-pane fanlight over outer door, pair consoles flanking, supporting cornice; multi-paned glazed inner door. Single windows flanking at ground with square hood moulds. Attic windows breaking through eaves with gabletted dormer heads, and with stepped masonry skews and masonry finials. W gable: single window at ground to left. E gable: single door at ground to right (now altered as window), small window over at low level in upper floor, this bay apparently formerly masked by a now demolished wing. Single-storey rear wing with flat-roofed dormer window addition over wallhead to W, stepped masonry skews at gable end and apex stack with single octagonal shaft raised on plinth. Three-quarter circle plan stair outshot in rear NW re-entrant angle, slated roof swept down following slope of main roof. Interior not seen (1992).
