Later 19th century. 2-storey, asymmetrical, rectangular- plan villa. Harled with ashlar sandstone margins, quoin strips, string courses, base course. Projecting eaves.
S ELEVATION: 4 bays. Round tower as outer left corner bay, windows symmetrically disposed at ground and 1st floor. Blank gabled bay immediately to right. Striking pagoda-style Edwardian porch to outer right, stone steps, flanking walls, half-piended leaded roof supported on chamfered wooden piers. Moulded pink sandstone door surround, 2-leaf wooden door. Window immediately to left, windows symmetrically disposed at 1st floor. Single storey modren garage in complimentary style to outer right.
W ELEVATION: asymmetrical. Full-height, ashlar, canted bay to outer left. Plain garden door reached by stone steps immediately to right (modern aluminum door). 2 windows in bays to right and round tower to outer right. 2 windows symmetrically disposed at 1st floor.
N ELEVATION: blank bay to outer right, 2-bay advanced block with 2 windows at ground and single window at 1st floor with windows symmetrically disposed at right return. Lower 2-storey addition to outer left in complimentary style with door at ground right and window above.
E (REAR) ELEVATION: original house obscured behind recent additions. Stair window bay advanced at centre, round headed with small leaded lights. Gable to left now with 2-storey jamb extension, bipartite window to left of centre bay. Porch built below stair window and garage to left.
4-pane sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; tall, coped wallhead and ridge stacks with quoins strips.
INTERIOR: not seen 1993.
STABLES: small L-plan range of former stables to E of house, now converted as residential. Rubble with harl pointing, ashlar margins. 7 bays to S elevation, French door in penultimate bay to left, hayloft door off-centre to right. 3 bays to W, door to left blocked as window. 2 symmetrically disposed dormerheads. Modern garage, rendered with ashlar quoin strips to right. 4-pane over 6-pane sash and case windows. Grey slate roof.
Clarinish is marked on the 2nd edition OS map. Listed for distinctive porch and well converted stables.
