Description

18th century with single-storey early 19th century addition.

Harled. 3 storey, L-plan with 2 window gable of projecting

wing to street, twin arched ground floor shop windows,

channel-jointed, framed in pilasters. 1-window recessed

section with close, partly filled out by single-storey

addition. Mostly original first floor glazing front

chimney stack appears to have been reduced in width. Unusual semicircular rubble built 3-storey stair turret on north side

of rear wing at 35. 2 storey and basement 2 window rear wing

beyond. Slated roof.

No 25 has good timber panelling to 1st and 2nd floor accomodation.

Statement of Interest

Notable group of gable fronted properties of a type once

common in Montrose. This is now the best surviving group.
