Description

D and J R Macmillan 1895 as Post Office. Free Renaissance
with some non-period features. 2-storey and attic,
ashlar-fronted, flank snecked rubble with ashlar dressings
and first floor string course. 4-window 3-dormer elevation
to Panmure Street, Ionic 1/3 fluted pilastered ground floor
with original shops, 8 has recessed door and shop window.
10 has Ionic columned doorpiece with scrolled pediment on
splayed angle, 2 shop windows to both Panmure Street and
Martin's Lane (the latter without pilasters). 1st floor
windows architraves with cornices, dormers semi-elliptically
arched with compound roll scrolled and triangular
pediments in deep parapets. 3-light 1st floor canted corner
bay. Gable to Lane single 1st floor window, scrolled chimney
gablet above with bipartite window. Slated roof.
