Description

Early Victorian. Plain Jacobean mansion house of William Burn
school, 2-storey main block with lower 2-storey wing,
single-storey office and coach-house range forming L-plan
entrance forecourt.
Coursed rubble, asymmetrical S front with 1-window gabled W
bay and 2 dormer heads, windows over ground floor tripartite
on E, 3-window (1 blind) E front, slightly advanced gabled
entrance bay, architraved and stepped hood-moulded doorpiece,
bay on left gabled, bay on right with dormer head, lower
2-storey wing to N has altered ground floor fenestration.
Single-storey former stable wing at right angles, 2-window
with gabled coach house end bay now used as garage. Slated
roofs. Glazing largely original.
