Description

Early Victorian. 2-storey detached villa of mildly Italianate

character with later additions. Original building coursed

rubble with flush ashlar quoins and raised keyblocked

margins, stepped L-plan front with 3-storey entrance tower

in re-entrant angle, advanced gabled section to left has

canted bay through both floors; tower has round-arched

keyblocked doorpiece and pairs of round arched keyblocked

windows at top stage, bracketted pyramid roof with ornamental

vane. Broad-eaved low-pitched slated roofs. Later 2-storey

addition to W, set-back gable front with tripartites. Recent single-storey and attic addition to east with timber E gable.
