Description

Late 19th century. French Renaissance style former British
Linen Bank. 2-storey and attic, symmetrical 6-window front.
Ashlar. Projecting porch with 2 engaged Ionic columns on
pedestals flanking door and sash windows to sides.
Entablature over and die and baluster parapet. Bipartite
windows flank porch, architraved door to left and sash to
right end bays. Windows architraved with moulded bracketted
cills. Panels over windows and doors. Cornice over ground
floor. 1st floor: 2 centre windows advanced and framed by
panelled Corinthian pilasters, outer ones paired. Architraved
sashes with moulded cill course and shaped aprons. Eaves
entablature with die and baluster parapet, and 3 wallhead
dormers. Outer ones have sashes flanked by panelled Ionic
pilasters and scrolls with entablature and steep pediments.
Inner one has bipartite with similar pilasters and
entablature and wider scrolls. Above entablature is raised
corniced block with steep pediment over. Platformed slate
roof with central stacks. Side elevations of snecked and
stugged ashlar. Margined windows.
