Description

David Baxter, circa 1920. Square-section 2-stage, 1-bay water, tower in manner of old Scots Doocot, hammer-dressed rubble.

Ground floor battered, with single light window and relieving arch to each elevation. Door at E elevation with ashlar surround. Single lights to each face of upper stage.

Swept pyramidal slate roof. Windows 6-pane glazing pattern at upper stage.

Statement of Interest

For the Stirling Avenue district heating system. The chimney, demolished in the mid 1970s, stood at Wishart Street. Municipally owned.
