Description

Walter MacFarlane and Co, Saracen Foundry, Glasgow, 1889 cast and wrought-iron railings, gate and gateposts of exceptionally quality on a low ashlar coping.

2 ENTRANCES: square-section ashlar piers with curved channelled angles. Cornice and cast-iron bases for gas-lamps. Vehicle gates missing. E entrance has ornate cast-iron pedestrian gate and flanking square-section cast-iron ball-finialled gateposts.

RAILINGS: proper are wrought-iron bars on a cast-iron cope with wavy kris finials. Curvaceously decorated balusters at regular intervals with scrolled wrought-iron bracket supports.
