Description

William Mackeson, circa 1900, basement public convenience
with original fittings.
S elevation: single storey snecked rubble. 3-light window
storey bays. 1839. Style of G. Mathewson.
with steel lintel and metal framed glazing. Ornate wrought-
iron railings with chamfered ashlar piers. Flat concrete
roof (level with Perth Road) with glass brick skylights.
Similar railings to stairs.
INTERIOR: green tiles to dado, white tiles over (modern
at stair). Patent mosaic floor with Greek key. Original
timber architraves and dentil cornice to caretaker's
'buckie', wash-stand and water closets. 7 'Sentinal' WC's
and 12 large 'Adamant' urinals by Wyfords Ltd, Cliffe
Vale Potteries, Hanley. Brass fittings.
