Description

Dated 1823 at central 2nd floor panel, altered 1864 for
public house. Trapezoidal-plan 3-storey and attic building
on island gusset site, coursed rubble with ashlar dressings.
6-bay front to West Port with ground floor pilaster strips
and entablature 3-bay elevations to Hawkhill and Brook Street
with ground floor pilasters.
Plain 6-bay rubble-built rear with new steps and doors to
Johnston's Lane.
Piended slate roof with central timber Italianate clock
turret, dated 1864, square-plan with dwarf Doric pilasters,
clock and low pyramidal lead roof, between flanking canted
dormers. Central ridge stack. Side rubble-built wallhead
stacks. 12-pane sash and case windows in margins.
