Dated 1906, 2-storey, 3-bay Free Style villa with garage
at rear. White painted harl, ashlar cills. Paired, mutule
blocks to overhanging eaves.
S ELEVATION: doorway to centre with Gibbs surround and
cantilevered arched canopy. Small circular window to
right. 3 windows to centre at 1st floor. Full-height
tripartite bow windows to outer bays; small blind boxes
at 1st floor and 4 decorative lead panels to aprons;
embossed with heraldic devices and dating. Painted lead
and timber mullions.
E ELEVATION: door to centre with lugged surround and
cantilevered canopy. Small-pane fanlight. Window to
attic. Irregular window openings at rear, extension with
mansard roof and further entrance.
W elevation also extended.
Contemporary double garage at rear with raised piended roof.
Retaining wall with drum gate piers.
Deep red tiles to piended roof; red ridge tiles. Harled
wallhead shouldered stacks with moulded cornice.
Quite probably designed by Peddie and Washington Brown; see
King's Knoll, Clifford Road, North Berwick which was leaded
balcony with fleur-de-lys motifs. (Feu charter from church,)
built for Dr Lawrence C M Wedderburn. Currently flatted,
upper flat retains many original decorative features
including Arts and Crafts light fittings and fireplace.
