Circa 1805. 2-storey, 5-bay classical villa with raised basement and attic; modern single storey extension projecting SW. Polished ashlar sandstone to front; droved to basement; squared and snecked rubble to sides and rear. Base course, eaves cornice and blocking course (tablet at centre). Architraved and corniced windows to ground floor. Rusticated quoins.
NW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Wide round-arched doorway in ionic columned doorpiece with entablature, with plate glass semicircular fanlight. Regularly spaced windows to ground and 1st floor. Basement windows; 2 dormers between bays 1-2 and 4-5.
SW AND NE ELEVATIONS: blank gable walls.
SE ELEVATION: asymmetrical. Door with modern steps to ground floor outer left bay; opening to centre bay and 2 openings right of centre. 3 regularly spaced windows to 1st floor. Remodelled box dormers above outer bays. Skylight to centre. Door to basement, right of centre.
Plate glass timber sash and case windows to all principal windows. Tripartite sash and case to front left dormer; modern glazing to remaining dormers. Grey slate piended roof with ashlar coped skews. Slate-hung and piended dormers. Wallhead stacks: corniced ashlar to left; truncated right stack.
INTERIOR: not seen (1995).
BOUNDARY WALL: stugged ashlar dwarf wall with coping. Modern railings and oversailing steps.
Typical Leith villa of the better class.
