Description

Earlier 19th century with later alterations. 2-storey, 3-bay terraced house. Stugged and painted, polished dressings. Base course, broad band course, cornice and blocking course.

SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: Doric columned and corniced doorpiece with Edinburgh panelled door to centre, plate glass fanlight and window at 1st floor above. Window to each floor of flanking bays, except tripartite window at bay to left, ground floor.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen, 1994; various additions to each bay (seen on maps).

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof with coped ashlar apex stacks and skews.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1994.

BOUNDARY WALLS: rendered and ashlar coping.

Statement of Interest

The site was not built upon in 1824. The house resembles its neighbour to the SW, No 5 Pittville Street, although there are differences between the two houses, most notably in the use of a band course rather than a cill course to No 7.
