Description

Plain rectangular minimum gothic Church of David Cousin 1843

raised to accommodate galleries 1847. Refronted by Henry and

MacLennan 1907-8. Late Scots gothic "nave and aisles" front,

boldly buttressed, central round arched doorpiece of 3

orders, 4-light window above, flat-roofed "aisle" fronts

having lancet windows with mouchettes, good snecked rubble

with polished ashlar dressings and parapets, 1-window returns

on flanks, high quality sculptured detail; plain original

1843 flanks beyond, 2-tier treatment, 4 bays, upper windows

have depressed arches and Y-tracery slated roof. Interior has full-height 4 centred arcades on cast-iron columns.
