Description

Circa 1850. 2-storey 3-bay rectangular-plan villa with rear service wing andf late 19th century front porch. Cream sandstone, stugged ashlar front with polished dressings, squared and snecked stugged rubble rear and sides. Base course; cill band course at 1st floor; architraved windows; eaves cornice with blocking course; plain angle pilasters with urn finials.

S (FRONT) ELEVATION: single storey pedimented entrance porch at centre with painted stone base, moulded timber pilasters and leaded glazing, panelled door with rectangular lead-paned sunburst fanlight; panelled inner door flanked by single windows. Single window to 1st floor above. Large French doors to outer bays with timber mullions and transoms at ground floor, single windows at 1st floor.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: 4-bay; 2-storey gabled service wing with apex stack and single windows to centre bays. Bay to left with single storey modern secondary entrance porch at ground floor, single window at 1st floor above. Bay to right with single storey stone-built extension in re-entrant angle, canted window facing W; single window at 1st floor above. E AND W ELEVATIONS: central conriced wallhead stack. GAZEBO: small wrought-iron domed gazebo in garden to S with scrolled detail.

Timber sash and case windows, mostly with 8-lying-panes. Black slate piend roof with metal flashings; 2 wallhead stacks, 1 apex stack (see above), octagonal cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1992.

BOUNDARY WALL: tall rubble wall with semi-circular coping to front, rear and sides, 2 tall droved ashlar coped gatepiers.
