Thomas Campbell, 1824-9. Lifesize bronze pedestrian statue with horse. Stepped granite plinth supports inscribed drum-ended bronze pedestal.
The statue was commissioned for Charlotte Square by the City, but deemed unsuitable and they eventually persuaded the Bank to accept it in 1834 as Lord Hopetoun had been Governor of the Bank from 1820-23.
