Description

Robert Burn, 1809. 3-storey with basement and attic, 6-bay, terraced tenement with shops at ground. Pend entrance to left. Droved sandstone ashlar. Band course, cill band at 1st floor, band course between 1st and 2nd floors, projecting cills at 2nd floor , eaves cornice and blocking course.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 2, 19th century shop fronts to right at ground each with 2-leaf panelled doors, flanking single windows and shared mutuled cornice, recessed steps to inner doors. Pend entrance slightly recessed in bay to outer left at ground. Timber door in round-arched recess to left of centre at ground with ashlar steps oversailing basement and railings. Regular fenestration above with stone-mullioned tripartites at 1st and 2nd floors in pend bay to left. 3 box dormers at attic.

Timber sash and case with plate glass, 4 and 12-pane glazing; grey slates, ridge stacks with terracotta cans; iron railings to entrance steps.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
