Description

Hippolyte Jean Blanc 1897-8, altered and extended
at north east corner by John Butters (Ludlow) 1908.
Large asymmetrical villa of picturesque outline.
2-storey and attic, harled with half-timber features.
East (entrance) elevation has single-storey porch
with stone doric angle column, bipartite, and parapet
upswept at ball-finialled angles. First floor 3-light
with lower flanking lights and oversailing attic with
bipartite in half timbered gable. South elevation has
broad half timbered gable to right over single storey
canted bay, first floor 3-light and oversailing attic
bipartite. Central piended section with asymmetrically
disposed bipartites linking to octagonal 3-storey
angle turret bay with prismatic roof on left. Single-
storey and attic setback outshot from main block
beyond, further single-storey piended wing with gablet
front on extreme left. Three catslide bipartite
dormers, on west slope of main roof. Piended single-
storey block to north. Tiled roofs with over-hanging
bracketed eaves, barge boards at gables, tall battered
stacks. Most windows astragalled at upper sections only.
