Description

Earlier 19th century with later additions. 2-storey and attic, 5-bay, near rectangular-plan plain classical houses, forming part of terrace. Coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings; painted ashlar doorpieces. Dividing band course; dentilled cornice; long and short surrounds; projecting cills to windows.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: pilastered and corniced doorpieces in bay to outer left of No 25; timber door; fanlight; single window aligned above; single windows at ground and 1st floor in bay to right; box dormer at attic.

Pair of pilastered and corniced doorpieces to Nos 27 and 29; flanking windows at ground; single windows aligned above; blind single window at centre above doorpieces. 2 canted dormers; single light to left dormer, 3-light to right dormer.

W (HAILES STREET) ELEVATION: lean to at ground to left, entrance door; single window to right; pair of windows at 1st and attic in gablehead; windows to left blocked.

Replacement windows. Grey slate roof; coped brick gablehead stacks with moulded cans; cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIORS: not seen 1997.

BOUNDARY WALLS: coped, coursed boundary wall to street with wrought-iron railings.
