Description

Circa 1815 with modern addition to S. 2 storey, 3 bay, symmetrical classical house. Droved cream sandstone with ashlar dressings; rubble to sides and rear. Base course; channelled quoins at ground; cill course to 1st floor windows; dentilled cornice; blocking course.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central doorway; panelled door; 3 pane fanlight; pilasters and paterae to corniced doorpiece; single window to 1st floor above. Single windows to both floors in remaining bays.

12 pane, timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof; corniced wallhead stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND PEDESTRIAN GATE: low, coursed and coped rubble boundary wall to street; high rendered wall adjoining house to N; high rubble wall to S. Pedestrian gate adjoining house to S; modern cast iron gate giving access to 4A South Gray Street.
