Early 18th century, incorporating earlier fabric. 6-storey and attic 5-bay tenement with shop to ground floor. Random rubble with ashlar dressings. Cavetto eaves course. 4-window dormer to attic. Pend to right (Jackson's Close); modern access balconies and part of circular stair to rear. Lower narrow block running N bounded by Jackson's Close and Lyon's Close adjoins No 48 Cockburn Street (separately listed).
