Description

Sir Robert Lorimer 1896, with early 1960's addition by
Milne (builder in Currie). Low 2-storey, harled with
dormer-heads, minimal ashlar dressings. Originally L (now
T)-plan, main south part with jerkin headed roof, north
wing asymmetrically gabled, with off-centre stack and
crowsteps on east side. Entrance doorpiece in wing at
re-entrant angle, single-storey canted bay at main block
on right. Six-window south elevation (3 right hand windows
1960's addition) first floor oversails ground floor
slightly. Original part has outer 4-lights with 3-light
piended dormers over, central single light with platformed
bipartite dormer. Addition has single-storey conservery,
with garden shelter on west face, single-storey flat
roofed extension and 3 dormers matching Lorimer's, 2
bipartite on west, piended tripartite on east. Tiled roof
with tall harled stacks. Fenestration mostly leaded
casements, 2 wing windows sashed. Eastern addition
includes garage court, and has stepped wall to north.
