James Peddie's (or Pedie's) development on a small estate

comprising 2 properties purchased from Bell and Muir.

Originally Brunswick Street, St Stephen Street and Place did

not form part of Reid and Sibbald's plan for the 1st

extension of the New Town though their plan was revised to

take it into account in 1827
