Description

Circa 1882. 4-storey, 4-bay Scottish 17th century style tenement, forming part of terrace. Squared and snecked bull-faced sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Base course; corbel table to 3rd floor stepped down at centre; dividing cornices to outer bays; 3rd floor windows breaking eaves; stop-chamfered reveals; mock canon barrels set in gablehead tablets.

E ENTRANCE elevation: 2 stop-chamfered and hoodmoulded doorways to inner bays; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; central single window at ground. Single windows to all floors above doorways; 3rd floor window to inner right with crowstepped pedimented dormerhead that to inner left with crowstepped link to main wallhead stack. Gabled full-height advanced bipartite window in bay to outer left; stone finial. Full-height 2-light angled window in bay to outer right, corbelled to square at gablehead; stone finial. Plate glass sash and cash windows. Grey slate roof; corniced central wallhead stack; coped mutual stacks; scroll skewputts; stone gutter stops.

INTERIORS: not seen 1991.
