J and W Wittet, 1919-20. Mirrored pair single storey,
3-bay cottages placed symmetrically each side of paired
loggias flanking steps up Lady Hill. Each cottage of
bullfaced rubble with tooled ashlar dressings; each with
5 sided projecting inner angle bay with hexagonal
pyramidal roof and weathervane; tripartite with swept
roof to outer bay; 2-pane glazing. Porches to outer
gable ends; crowstepped gables; end stacks; Caithness
slate roofs.
Paired basket-arched arcades to each loggia, rubble built
incorporating reused pediments from earlier Elgin
properties.
Cottages gifted by Sir Archibald Williams, MP for Moray and
Nairn to commemorate end of hostilities 11 November 1918.
