Description

1830-40, possibly William Robertson, Elgin. 3 builds, much
altered. 3 storeys, 5 bays. Tooled rubble, tooled ashlar
dressings. First floor windows large with hoodmoulds,
originally tripartite as at No 73; the first floor windows at
No 75 altered crica 1900 by raising of cills and introduction
of central stone mullions and new glazing; first floor
windows at No 79 have had original timber mullions removed
and plate glass introduced. Modern shopfronts at Nos 73 and
75; Edwardian shopfront at No 79 and fascia board with
segmental pediment placed above its first floor windows.
Moulded eaves cornice. Slated roof. Some original glazing
pattern at upper floors.
2-storey, 5-bay return elevation to North Street. Harled,
contrasting painted margins; later plate glass glazing.
