Description

Built in stages, but by about mid 19th century it was a

T-plan school with crow-stepped gables, open belfry over

gable to street with deeply-projecting cap; re-entrant angle subsequently filled by another crow-stepped range; porch

overlapping gables is probably same date (?late 19th

century), and both have decorative iron finials. Rear wing

not original and much altered. Rubble-built, dry-dashed to

street, ashlar margins; windows are small-paned sashes,

3-light window in main gable; slate roofs with louvred

triangular ventilators. Boundary wall with gatepiers, modern

iron railings.

Gabled N-S orientated range may be earliest existing part.
