Description

Circa 1852 terrace of tenements, 17 bays, with 8-bay
return elevation to 78-80 Otago Street. 3 storeys.
Stonecleaned droved ashlar with polished ashlar margins.
Wide architraved doorpieces with consoled cornices and
fanlights. All windows architraved, corniced at ground
and 1st floors. Sash windows, 4-pane glazing (some
modern windows at 78-80 Otago Street). No 1-7 Great
George Street and 78 Otago Street have, at 1st floor,
continuous cill band and heavy lintel cornice. Plain
main cornice, axial and wallhead stacks, plain flues,
slate roofs. Good cast-iron balusters to stairs;
plaster cornices and ceiling roses survive.
