2 terraces of 2-bay houses intersected by Horselethill Road;
similar in bay arrangement and detail.
Nos 1-16: 32 bays with shallow advanced 4-bay central
polished ashlar, partly stonecleaned, arranged with 2-storey
corniced canted window to left Nos 1-8 or right Nos 9-16 (at
pavilions with engaged Corinthian columns). Steps oversailing
basement to architraved, consoled and corniced doorpieces,
cornice acts as base to 1st floor balconies with pierced
ashlar parapet. Pavilion doorpieces tripartite, architraved
with elaborately moulded consoles supporting mutule cornice;
glazed sidelights. All windows architraved; lugged at 2nd
floor and tripartite over projecting windows. Plate glass
sashes. Continuous cornice over ground. Cill strings to 2nd
floor of pavilions. Round headed dormers; tall corniced axial
stacks.
Nos 17-22 detailed as nos 1-16; stepped down slight slope,
bays arranged 12-4-8; nos 23 and 24 being 4-bay pavilion.
Flanks to both terraces: polished ashlar, 3 bays. Details
similar to main fronts. Rear elevations droved ashlar. Leaded
upper sashes to canted windows at Nos 3 and 4; good leaded
glass vestibule doors at Nos 8, 26. At Nos 17, 18, 22, 24 and
25 doors converted to tripartite windows. Plain cast-iron
railings to steps and basement area.
