Circa 1870. Square detached gabled villa with picturesque
details; 2 storeys over basement with attics. Stugged ashlar,
polished dressings channelled base course.
Asymmetrical 3-bay E elevation with left 2 bays slightly
advanced and each gabled. Steps oversailing basement to
elaborate centrally placed doorpiece; architraved, consoled
and corniced. Round arched door, carved spandrels and frieze
band. Double leaf panelled door; vestibule door with glazed
fanlight. Above door, round arched window. At attic level
oculus.
To left, 2-storey canted bay window corbelled to square at
attic with round arched window in gable.
To right, tripartite architraved corniced window, bipartite
to 1st floor with moulded cill.
Sash windows, plate glass glazing. Band course over ground;
recessed giant pilaster at angles of advanced left bay. Very
wide overhanging timber bracketted eaves. Stugged ashlar
flank to left, windows with polished margins. Corniced
wallhead stacks with octagonal cans; steeply pitched slate
roofs.
Whole surrounded by stugged ashlar wall with tall coped stone
gatepiers (name incised).
