David Barclay, architect; 1902-1904. 2 ranges of 6-bay
tenements symmetrically arranged with return elevations to
Beaumont Gate. All similarly detailed. 4 storeys with
basement at rear; polished red sandstone, stugged at
base-course.
Nos 28-30 and 32-34 Highburgh Road; terminal and off-centre
full-height 5-light bow windows; otherwise sash windows bi-
or tripartite with upper sashes small-paned or leaded
glazing; lower sashes with plate glass glazing. Steps to
double-leaf panelled doors with leaded fanlight; curvilenear
lintel over door. Vestibule doors with leaded glass. Deep
moulded band courses at cills carried round bow windows.
Modillion cornice; plain cornice at Nos 28-30.
Flanks to Beaumont Gate detailed as above; No 10, 3-bay with
bow windows flanking door. No 13, 4-bay; as above, with
tripartite windows to extreme left.
Stugged coped ashlar retaining wall to garden and steps;
latter support cast-iron railings.
Flanks to Nos 28 and 32 Highburgh Road of bull-faced ashlar.
