Description

Large and imposing 4 storey basement and attic 10-bay red sandstone tenement on curved plan with 5-bay return to Botanic Gardens elevation. Polished ashlar. Finer detailing at Nos 10-12 with arched keyblocked ground floor opening and channelled masonry. Alternate close and main door entries. Consoled and corniced first and second floor windows. Cill band/cornice to all floors. Raised ground floor with architectural stairways. Plate glass. Sash and case windows. Good cast iron railings.

Statement of Interest

Interiors not seen. Some probably of interest. Formerly known as Windsor Quadrant. Design scheme by Alexander Petrie for Miss Margaret Ure. Building completed on 9 March 1899, not as per drawings.
