Description

Henry Higgins, architect; 1898. Polished ashlar 3-bay house with banded pilasters at angles. No 1 set obliquely to rest of crescent. 2-storey with attics.

Centrally placed doorpiece with term pilasters supporting corniced lintel, hood-moulded semi-circular glazed fanlight with 3 balusters separating lights. Double leaf panelled storm doors; vestibule tripartite with glazed arched fanlight. At ground corniced canted windows with plain parapet. To 1st floor, 5 single light windows with moulded architraves. Sash windows, plate glass glazing. Continuous

band courses at ground and 1st floor cills and over ground floor. Band course at eaves modillion cornice. Deep plain parapet links 3 aedicular dormers with arched lights. Tall conical axial stacks.

W flank with canted window to ground and tripartite window to left. Otherwise detailed as above.

Droved ashlar rear with 1 and 2-storey extension to rear. Good decorative cast-iron railings and gate to front garden. Tall ashlar boundary wall along W flank with square corniced ashlar gatepiers. To carriageway: pair of tall square corniced ashlar gatepiers from Cleveden Road.
