Description

John A Campbell, architect; circa 1906. Terrace of 3 2-storey
and basement houses; 7 bays arranged 3-2-2 with Nos 17 and 19
forming symmetrical 4-bay elevation. Rock-faced masonry;
polished margins, quoins and basecourse.
Steps to roll-moulded lugged architraved doorway with
keystone. Double-leaf outer doors; vestibule doors tripartite
with arched leaded fanlight and panels. Flanking doors,
2-storey canted bay windows with parapet breaking through
eaves. Above door, single light window with polished margins.
Sash windows, plate glass lower sashes; small pane upper
sashes. Wide mutule eaves; tall axial stacks, slate roofs,
plain skews.
No 15 with good conservatory to N flank with full-height
leaded canted window. Good interior to No 15 with wood
panelling and chimney pieces.
No 19; flank, masonry treated as main facade; ashlar
balustrade to basement area.
Rear elevations; stugged/rock-faced ashlar with irregular
projecting full-height wings.
